Lazy Labor Day @ The Spot

This was a game day at The Spot in Newton, North Carolina put on by No Ordinary Gamers on Saturday August 30th. We had several games from different companies that were demoed for people. Some learning to play for the first time and others that were dear friends of the games.

Worldcon 2014

So this is a picture of the first Games Klatch (Random people turning up and joining in a game) on the Thursday of Worldcon. We started with Fluxx the Board game (as shown in the picture), then progressed to Oz Fluxx.

Finally!!! (On a few levels and with surprises)

We had 8 participants at the Regular Show Fluxx event at Comic Paradise Plus in Fairmont, West Virginia, on release day, July 25, 2014.

This was the first event I ran for Lonney Labs, but I have been demoing games for around 20 years, including being at the first Origins where Lonney Labs was to release FLUXX.

I didn't know my mother was an auctioneer

I just got a copy of Lunacy and I decided I wanted to try it out. Before demoing it at conventions. So, I made my boyfriend - who is only into computer shooter games - and my mother try it.

I learned several things. For starters, my mother doesn't know what any of the cards are. (The deck doesn't have a golf ball or a boy, they're the moon and lady liberty respectively.) Also, at some point we started calling the alien an eyeclopse.

Not what I expected (in a good way)

So, most of my friends own a copy (or every copy) of Munchkin, so I decided that buying one was a little silly (at least two of them keep their copies in their cars, and these are the ones I always game with), so I bought Monty Python Fluxx.  What I didn't realize at the time was how often we'd want to play it.
