Game Group Play

I introduced both Star Fluxx and Looney Pyramids to my game group tonight.

I recently joined a new game group.  Most nights there are between 10 and 20 people there to play everything from light to heavy games.  Tonight I introduced Looney Pyramids as a game system, and then we went on to play Zendo as a good introductory Looney Pyramids game.  The game went well enough that I had several people ask where they could buy there own Pyramids, and how many sets do I own?…

Impossible Realities

This convention ran Friday, September 9 at 6:00pm - September 11 at 6:00pm but because it is so far away I was only able to attend Saturday and Sunday. I started my very first demo by doing Monty Python Fluxx. I quickly realised how few songs I actually knew and the ones that I did know do not have a “G” rating. Because this was my first Demo of Fluxx I was only demoing it with 2 players. I then discovered…

Lexpo Lafayette: 9/24/2011

I just got home from Lexpo Lafayette, my local convention of comics, games, independent film, and local artists. It was most notably represented with all of our local gaming stores hosting their niche game tournaments; the one that is table-top mini heavy which hosted a HeroClix and Warhammer 40k tournament, the other which is cardgame heavy which hosted Magic: The Gathering, and one of those other ones that I can't keep up with (Pokemon? Yu-Gi-Oh? I can't keep them straight). It was with…

Game Night

I finally got some people together for a game night last night. The evening started off with some 4 player Pharaoh. Everyone enjoyed the game. (It is a little difficult to demo IceDice to a group of people. There would be too many people watching and not playing…) Some of the guys were having a good time just playing around with the pyramids. After that, we played Star Fluxx. We got 4-5 games in before two people had to leave. Everyone really likes it. We finished the night with a couple games… Continue

Pirate Fluxx... Arrrggg Me hearties!

Played Pirate Fluxx at a local store, Board Game Nation. Great store lots of fun. I had posted on their facebook schedule that I was running Pirate Fluxx tonight to celebrate "Talk Like a Pirate Day". We had six people (one was one of the store owners) playing (three games total) before we moved on to a different pirate game that someone else brought.  One person had a little trouble understanding things but we talked…

just a little friendly gathering

So i finally started getting around to doing some demo with the new Star Fluxx. First one so far was with a couple friends in which i gathered a couple onlookers lol. Both friends are pretty new to Fluxx in general, so their first try was with the demo. They seem to enjoy the game so far in which i should be getting around to demoing with a few of my other friends.

stars the limit

Did not get in time for local con.

Have played with family and local games nights.

all good feedback.

The rules on the keepers took some getting used to by players whom had played other versions..

But after they got the hang of the cards they all seem to have a good time.

I-Con 2011, Springfield IL

Though we got off to a rocky start (last minute change of venue) our local convention happened this past weekend.

Saturday morning, I host what I like to call 'gaming breakfast' but no food is involved, just games. I have a large assortment of games on hand besides the Looney Labs goodness, but I had planned on featuring Star Fluxx! And not to my surprise, that was what everyone wanted to play first!

We had a six player game, 5 of whom had never played. I gave…

Star Fluxx at Mecca, September 6

We got together for our usual Tuesday night gaming. Mostly it's LL stuff, but occasionally other games are played.

But we all wanted to play Star Fluxx! Only 4 of us played (so 3 Android Doctors got handed out) but we did play 4 times! It was slow at first, as we all needed to read the new cards and see what abilities they had.

Some time of course was spent on quoting lines from the appropriate movie/TV show when the cards were played. And a new Creeper to be…

PAX in Seattle, WA

At PAX I was located under the escalators on the second floor of the Washing State Convention Center.  I was there from 11 am - 10 pm on Saturday August 28th.  I did not get a lot of foot traffic exposure due to where I was located; however, I managed to demo the following:

3 games of Seven Dragons

7 games of IceDice

11 games of Pirate Fluxx

3 games of Back to the Future

In addition, I had the pleasure of play testing, with 8 other people,…

Pirate Fluxx Demo

I demoed Pirate Fluxx at both the Gulf Coast Gaming Club and at the 2011 ConNooga convention in Chattanooga, TN. Both went over very well. The dealer had several decks of various Fluxx games on his table all day Friday and most of Saturday. After the demo game all the Fluxx games were gone within an hour. All those who already knew how to play loved Pirate Fluxx.

Another Successful Star Fluxx Demo

Had another GREAT Star Fluxx Demo last night.  Taught 2 people how to play.  After a couple of games, we added a couple of Promo cards, The Traitor, Talk like a Martian and Zap a card.  A lot of fun was had by everyone.  Gave out 4 promo (Robo-Doc) cards!

Greetings,

Received my DEMO deck yesterday and played with the family.  It was a BLAST.

Had a question come up (posted in the forums) about Unseen Force.  Other than that, like I said...Had a BLAST.

Hosting a Star Fluxx game at my house for my gaming group this weekend.

Thanks.
