I just ran a demo of Cthulhu Fluxx at Little Shop of Comics and Games in Scotch Plains, NJ on 9/28/12. 4 people stopped by to play. One of them was in between MtG games, but he seemed to have fun. Played about 15 games with 2 others. Gave away some promo cards and posters. The store sold Cthulhu Fluxx and Zombie Fluxx as a result of this demo.
I thought running one little Fluxx event at a small local convention (Intervention Con, Rockville, MD) would be perfect to get my feet wet again after a hiatus from teaching games. Although I had my husband to help, we also had our 7 month old infant in tow. So I made sure to enlist the help of some other Techs, “just in case.” I scheduled Fluxx Fest for 4pm – 7pm on Friday night, the first night of Intervention Con. I wasn’t expecting a lot of people because table top gaming isn’t a big…Continue

I was running my classic open gaming library, this time at a brand new convention Queen City Conquest in Buffalo NY. I brought all of my games, but as always, the Looney games get a place of honor on the front table. I had my Looney Labs games in a clear display, with WW5, MegaVolcano, Zendo, and many many versions of Fluxx out, as well as a few piles of various promo cards from over the years for people to take. Hastur was by far the most popular. My posters that came with each game were…Continue
My fiance is the president of his college's gamer's club (Gamers Anonymous at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI) and when I heard about the college's yearly meetup for all of the clubs to recruit new members, K-Day, I saw it as a great chance to demo some Looney Labs games! Unfortunately I was not able to get pictures since I was busy playing so much, but we had a great time! I brought with me Pirate Fluxx, Cthulu Fluxx, and Star Fluxx, and all 3 were a hit! We had 4 of the…Continue
The picture of the Pyramid Demo Kit has got me eager to play (I have everything I need to play all those games, but I still want one of those kits), so on my weekly visit to my hometown, I managed to gather up three friends and over about two hours we played: Tic Tac D'oh!, Pharaoh, Treehouse, Martian Coasters, Builders of R'lyeh, and Icetowers (which I had never played before). I think Tic Tac D'oh! and Martian Coasters were the favorites, but we didn't spend much time on Builders. I…Continue

Today I joined fellow Game Technicians Rebecca Hoop and Lara Goodwill for the Fluxx Fest event at Intervention, a small convention in Rockville, MD focused around internet comic strips. The event ran from 4:00-7:00 pm. When Lara and I arrived in the designated room for the event, Rebecca was in the process of getting a game original Fluxx started so we joined in.
When we first started, it was only five of us; three of us being Game Techs, Rebecca's husband (I apologize to him…Continue
I was lucky enough to find out that Rebecca Hoop was setting up to run Fluxx demo's at the Intervention Con (Internet+Convention=Intervention). Today was the big day and I must say all of us where surprised at the turn out! At my table alone we figured I had about 8 or 9 people through the day and I think our total turn out was about 20!
We where in the Open Gaming room from 4-7 in the afternoon and both tables where packed most of the time. When I first arrived Rebecca had…
On the last day of our Seattle trip, we did 2 game store events. The first was at the Bellvue location of Uncle's games, which is located inside a mall. They have a wonderful location - check out this game store!
But we were there on a Tuesday afternoon, when there just aren't a lot of people in the…Continue
On our last night in Seattle we went to Green Lake Games. This was Andy's favorite of all the game store events we did on this trip, simply because this store is run by some industry friends and a lot of the folks visiting with us were people we've gotten to know at conventions over the years.
The evening also…Continue
Today marks the first official Demo I have run for Looney Labs games! I demoed Cthulhu Fluxx at the Land of Make Believe in Hudson Ohio. Before the official demo, I ran the owner of the store through not only Cthulhu Fluxx, but also a few other Looney Labs games with which he was unfamiliar, namely 7 Dragons and Chrononauts. During the actual demo itself, we had only four people besides myself, however of them, only one had ever played a Fluxx game before, so I got to indoctrinate some new…Continue

PAX was a great show for us! We had a small booth upstairs on the 6th floor, where we set up a couple of demo tables and a big new Cthulhu Fluxx banner and we spent all weekend teaching and playing our games with new fans and old friends.
We weren't doing any sales ourselves, there were 5 retailers…Continue
On the night before PAX we did a game store event at a store called Card Kingdom. What an incredible game store! We also had a great meal beforehand at the attached Cafe Mox, which is also an awesome location.
For our event, they let us use their Tournament room, and we set up several game testing…Continue
